- Project MANAS - Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition
During 2017 the XIMEA team was approached with an inquiry to provide help for a project called MANAS founded by Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) and Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
After the initial development stage, we are happy to share the news that their robot named "Solo" has secured 1st position (Overall Competition) at the 2019 Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition held in Michigan USA.
Designed indigenously by MIT students from various engineering streams, Solo won against 35+ competing teams and holds the following positions:
1st in the Interoperability Profile (IOP Challenge).
2nd in the Design competition.
6th in the Cyber Security Challenge.
As a project partner, XIMEA would like to extend our congratulations and wish MANAS all the best for their future work.

The high speed camera provided by XIMEA was the 4.2 Mpix color model equipped with USB3 interface ensuring stable speed of 90 Fps.
MANAS team is currently working on integrating it in their self-driving car as one of the primary sources of vision perception data.
According to Shrijit Singh "Project MANAS is proud to have XIMEA as a sponsor whose support has been essential towards achieving our goal of inspiring advanced research in Artificial Intelligence and oversee its implementation enabling automated systems to be made available to generous populous."
