What is xiX-XL?

Extending the xiX camera series with a 32 Gbit/s backend allows the integration of the newest generation of Sony sensors.
This product line-up offers large format Sony BSI sensors (up to 151 Mpix, 66.7 mm diagonal), reaching the full potential of the sensor specifications with the smallest sensor-to-package ratio.
An innovative housing concept with a detachable sensor head optimizes heat dissipation to improve the image quality and simplifies the integration into tight spaces.

EFFICIENT
Large Sony sensors like IMX455, IMX461, IMX411 or IMX661 are absolutely remarkable in their imaging qualities, offering quantum efficiency up to 90 % thanks to the backside illuminated design.
FAST
High-speed PCIe Gen3 x4 lane interface (32 Gbit/s) enhances full potential of these large-format sensors. Achieving 18 FPS at 61 Mpix or 6 FPS at 151 Mpix.
FUNCTIONAL
Based on the sensor functionality, the cameras utilize a full range of features making it possible to select 12, 14 or 16 bit readout as well as 2x2 or 3x3 binning and ROI.
ADAPTABLE
The removable sensor head can be detached from the main camera electronics minimizing the effects of heat while still minimizing read noise to the 1e- range.
COMPACT
The ratio of the camera’s size and weight to focal plane area is the best in its class. Camera dimensions are as close to sensor size as possible.
OMNIPRESENT
Built for maximum flexibility and with multi-camera setups in mind, ideal for photogrammetry and aerial mapping.
LOW-LATENCY
Minimum latency and CPU load. PCIe interface comes with the lowest latency possible, delivering data directly to RAM (DMA) with no overhead from critical processing infrastructure.
